- ABOUT LAURA & KIRAN
Color Loom is dedicated to creating fabrics and home textiles in contemporary colors. We use the traditional textile techniques of India as a palette for design. Our handcrafted products are offered in color stories to inspire home decor that is comfortable, stylish and easy to put together.

Our designs are then dyed, woven or embroidered by master craftsmen in India in a wide range of natural fabrics. Our cottons, linens and silks run from lightweight sheers for curtains to heavyweight twill stripes for upholstery.

We met in India. Our first date lasted 36 hours. Auspiciously, it was on the full moon of the color festival of Holi, when people run wild throwing powdered color on each other in the streets.
At sunset, we took a magical boat ride on the lake in the bird sanctuary at Bharatpur, Rajasthan. Surrounded by flocks of birds shadowed against a glowing sky of oranges, pinks and purples, floating along in an old faded gray wooden row boat, we discovered our mutual love of Indian textiles and our desire to bring contemporary design to traditional Indian products.
On that first date we sketched out the lines of the business we are still doing today.

When I arrived in India and was hit by the explosion of color in the most beautiful hand woven fabrics I'd ever seen, I knew I had landed in textile heaven. When I found out that the master weavers would dye any color I wanted, I knew I'd found my place.
